For cakes size does matter ! You obviously need to keep in mind how many people will want to have a piece of that cake and also how big a piece you are going to allow them to have. Size also has an influence on the impact that a cake is going to have at your event. Our minimum size for a single tiered cake is 7". The smaller 6" cake is available as part of a cake with a minimum of two tiers.
On the whole our cakes have a minimum depth of 9cm. Exceptions to this are fruit cakes made to order and novelty cakes which can vary in depth depending on the design. We include details of the portion numbers for all our cake designs as part of the order process.
The standard way of describing portion sizes is to talk about them as either a FINGER PORTION or a DESSERT PORTION.
A finger portion is approx 2.5 cm (W) x 2.5 cm (D) x 9 cm (H) A dessert portion would be about twice the size i.e. 2.5cm (W) x 5cm (D) x 9cm (H)
